At the heart of PAKPANI is a community focus and unifying nature across all regions of Pakistan.
Subsidized water for underserved communities through PAKPANI® Community.
PAKPANI® mission is to ensure all Pakistani’s have access to the highest quality drinking water, no matter their economic situation. That is why, the profits from the sale of PAKPANI® water will go to subsidizing water for those that cannot afford to purchase bottled water.
From the sale of PAKPANI® bottled water, more than 50% of profits go to PAKPANI® Community, which provides and coordinates subsidized water to households in need (at >90% subsidy). This ensures all Pakistanis can afford to provide their families with top quality drinking water at a price they can afford.
Female empowerment and community engagement through PAKPANI® Water Ambassadors.
Subsidized water is provided to communities through a registration programme coordinated by a local female workforce, called Water Ambassadors (WAs). WAs are residents of the communities in which they work. They are trained in effective communication approaches and the importance of clean drinking water on health.
WAs are structured in local cooperatives, sharing in PAKPANI®’s profits.Registered household are routinely engaged, to ensure smooth delivery of service. WAs run training workshops once a month within communities to build capacity around importance of clean drinking water.
Support for the environment and local communities through PAKPANI® circular plastic economy.
PAKPANI® supports the environment and local communities through a circular plastic economy. The Program functions through a membership model whereby registered members collect plastic bottles for incentives, including income and supportive benefits (i.e.,health insurance and education support) for themselves and their families.
The plastic is then recycled through our partnerships in industry and turned into plastic feedstock, ultimately being sold to manufacturers or turned into functional products for the communities of our Program members.
PAKPANI® is investing in long-term sustainable solutions to Pakistan’s water crisis, through PAKPANI® Water Innovation Labs (PPWIL) — a Pakistan-centred think tank designed to come up with solutions to the complex challenge of clean water in Pakistan.
PPWILs will bring together entrepreneurs, innovators and systems and water experts, to design long-term water solutions that are more cost-effective, sustainable and environmentally friendly; with the ultimate goal of shifting Pakistan’s reliance on bottled water to more sustainable water solutions. PPWILs will partner and collaborate with local and international water innovation and security institutes. PPWILs will inform PAKPANI® strategy.

PAKPANI® will grow through a franchise model, whereby local entrepreneurs can set up a PAKPANI® franchise using a standardized framework and quality assurance, while being supported through capacity building to maintain top-quality standards. Across all franchises, the PAKPANI® framework of selling water and providing water subsidies will be maintained.
PAKPANI® franchise model is designed to support local economic growth by removing the hurdle for local entrepreneurs to break into the water market, ensure consistent water quality standards, and support PAKPANI®'s expansion of subsidized water for under-served communities.
